Karachi, November 28, 2016 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that the launch of Endowment Fund for the students of professional colleges is a milestone in the history of Sindh Education Department and so far from 2003 to 2014, as many 10086 students of professional colleges have been benefited for academic wise. This he said while presiding over a meeting of Board of Governors of Endowment Fund regarding release of allocated funds for scholarship to the students of professional colleges here at Tughlaq House Sindh Secretariat on Monday.
Secretary Education for Schools Dr. Fazullah Pechuhu, Secretary Finance, Director IBA Sukkur and other officers also attended the meeting. The Secretary Finance assured that the funds in this regard would be released on time so that the deserving students might not feel any burden and difficulty in achieving their studies. The meeting was also informed that the interviews of the students for Endowment Fund scholarship for the academic year 2015 had been conducted.
The Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar directed them to maintain transparency in awarding scholarship to the students because only needy and competent students deserve for Endowment Fund. He said that the scholarships through Endowment Fund had enabled thousands deserving students to accomplish their degrees and earn a decent livelihood and to support their families as well.
